F2 Stand-alone and Inter-Foundation School Transfers (IFST)

Important National Process Changes

F2 Standard-alone Recruitment

Applicants who are currently working as part of the two-year programme or have successfully completed the F2 year and received a Foundation Achievement of Competency Document (FACD) / Foundation Programme Certificate of Completion (FPCC) are not eligible to apply for F2 Stand-alone posts.

IFST – Inter-Foundation School Transfer

The UKFPO have now centralised the IFTS process to run during a set window each year. The timeline for 2020 is detailed below.

National Timeline IFST 2020

• Application window opens - Monday 2nd March 2020
• Application window closes - Thursday 19th March 2020
• Administrative review of applications Monday 9th – Monday 30th March 2020
• Notification of incomplete applications* - By Tuesday 31st March 2020
• National review panels consider applications** - Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th April 2020
• Panel outcomes issued to applicants - Monday 20th April 2020
• Transfer confirmations to applicants - Thursday 23rd April 2020
• Deadline for late applications - Thursday 28th May 2020
• Outcomes for late applications - Thursday 18th June 2020
• New rotations commence - August 2020

2020 Academic Foundation Interviews, London

We are still seeking 10 Academic Panel Members and 10 Clinical Panel members for the three interview dates below:

• 6^th January 2020

F2 IST Evaluation Survey – Please complete

As part of the evaluation of Improving Surgical Training (IST), the evaluators are keen to get in touch with other specialties, professions or doctors at a different level of training than core surgery. The evaluators have developed the following survey for trainees that are currently in or have been in a surgical rotation within foundation. Not only do they wish to explore the impact of IST but they are also interested in the attractiveness of IST for those in foundation as a future training pathway

Please complete the survey by 24^th November 2019.
